Hi simon.....

On the RP site, just look up the form for the race in question and it shows up to the last 10 races for each horse, on the right you will see what the horses Official Rating was and also what the horse rated by Topspeed and Postmark.....

Hope this is of use.....

Hi Simon, there is a few speed ratings sites on the net if you need them I will post them for you . I used to work a faster than class system from the racing post but they changed the man who did the ratings so that ended that. As you know D. Edwards does them now so maybe next summer it might be a goer again, I have a few systems that use speed & form ratings that I will put up if it is ok. The only problem with them is they are old and I got them off a friend who used to work for a relay firm and knowing I was into speed ratings he got me a few.

Hi Oldham..I meant the speed systems that Barry has used in the past not the sites. :wink
Juvenile Supreme System (2yo races)

(1) Top or Jt Top Postmark
(2) Top 3 Rated Topspeed
(3) The horse must have produced the best lto speed fig of all the horses
(4) The penalty value of todays race must be the same or higher than todays race
(5) The first 2 in the betting forcast must have ran at least once
(6) The horse must have at least one of the following attributes
(a) The starting price of the horse lto must have been at least half the number of
runners in that race ie 10 runners 5/1 or less
(b) Look in the todays trainers list, this gives details of the trainers record of the
last 14 days, the trainer must have a strike rate of 40% plus win and place
(c) The trainer must be one of the top 3 trainers at the course or has a 20% strike
rate with his 2yo at the course
(7) No bet in any races with forcast odds on fav
(8) No bet at all weather courses

2yo Races use Split Sec Ratings

(1) Bet only in Class or better 2yo races
(2) Bet only in the clear top rated horse, unless over unsuitable course, distance
and going, then consider 2nd top rated
(3) Only bet on good ground or faster
(4) Bet only between Newmarket July meeting to early, mid September
(5) Only bet in races were 80% of runners have form
(6) Bet only 3/1 or greater
(7) Bet 5% of betting bank to win only

Hi,

Faster than Class

(1) Top 6 in the betting
(2) Note horse O.R.
(3) Markdown any horse who's Postmark & Topspeed is higher than its O.R.
(4) Mark sure the track, distance & going is same as when horse qualifed
(5) Horse must have won or was the following distance behind the winner
(a) 5&6 fur 1.5 lenths (b) 7&8 fur 2 lenths (c) 9&10 fur 2.5 (d) 11&12 3 lenths (e) 13&14 fur 3.5
(f ) 15&16 fur 4 lenths
(6) Naps when qualifing race and todays race are at a course with uphill finish
(7) No more than one step up in Class

additional filters Good Jockey, and consistancy ie- at least 1 win in last 3 races & 2 wins in
last 6 races with at least 2 more places.

This is a method I used when Tony Hardbridge was Topspeed at the Racing Post, if you use this make sure D Edwards fig's work as well. I just
noticed how many were wining when the speed fig's were better than the horse's OR, the other rules were added to tighten up the selection method. The method was a real money maker but since Tony the other raters fig's were not up to sratch.
