Do any other members use Dutching.
I have been trying it for a few days now, I have a dutching calculator which I wrote on a LOTUS spreadsheet, for 2 sels, and one for 3 sels, to show a profit whichever wins, it shows the percentage profit to total stakes.
I don't have EXCEL spreadsheet, and lotus wont work with any other spreadsheet.
I have done quite well so far 3 races 3 winners, profit 25%, 21% and yesterday 41%, :laugh I did back 4 in the race but one was a NR.

Yeah, I used it quite a bit a while back. Not used it much recently but one of the systems I am developing uses it. It's a very nice staking technique in my opinion

I am still experimenting, and haven't got a real system so far, I look for races of 10 or less where the first 3 in the FC are reasonable odds and the remainder in the race at much longer odds, I then check what sort of percentage return I would get and if over 25% I place the bets with Betfair or Betdaq whichever gives the best return.

I found some stats that gave a percentage of races that one of the first three in the betting forecast had won. These varied between race types (hurdles, chases, handicaps etc). I use these figures to work out what percentage profit I would need to make on such a race.
For example, if stats suggest that the race type is won by one of the top three in the betting 75% of the time I would need to make a profit of over 33% on the race.

Thanks, I will look at that, I think I will also check if Big C has any of the selections as Lays.

On the subject of dutching, I was wondering today if anyone had come across a method for laying, although not backing to win, is there an easy way of restricting liability if one of the selections Win, for example only lose a =% of total bet if any one wins.
In the case of 3 in the race at Leic today ?, or is there an easy way on betfair to do it, I know it shows your liability for each one you back but can you work it out before you place the bet / offer ?
No platers picks the last couple of day's been otherwise engaged.

If you are laying more than one horse, click on all the pink buttons of the selections. Set your odds and stakes and you will see your 'worst case' eg:
Horse1 - 5.0 - £8.00 - £32.00
Horse2 - 6.0 - £7.00 - £35.00
Horse3 - 7.0 - £6.00 - £36.00
Horse4 - 8.0 - £5.00 - £35.00
Possible results:
Horse1 wins - £18.00 returns, £32.00 liability = £14.00 loss
Horse2 wins - £19.00 returns, £35.00 liability = £16.00 loss
Horse3 wins - £20.00 returns, £36.00 liability = £16.00 loss
Horse4 wins - £21.00 returns, £35.00 liability = £14.00 loss
Any other horse wins - £26.00 returns, no liability = £26.00 profit
In this particular example you risk £16.00 for a possible £26.00 profit. As with all laying, if you can reduce the odds layed, you can increase the profits and reduce the risk. Occasionally you can end up with a situation where no matter what the outcome of the race you can make a profit. More likely is that you can keep the risk to a required level with a chance to make a profit on 'best case'.

Could anyone simply explainDutching and how I set it up as a new computer user, please? favourite 36I'll explain dutching if you can explain the above in bold
Dutching is simply backing multplie runners in the same race such that regardless of which of the backed horses wins you profit by the same amount.
