Scoop 6

If you get a win does it also count for the place pot?

The scoop 6 is nothing to do with the placepot Charlie. It does pay out if you get 6 placed, but seperate bet to the placepot.

Yes as a win is also a place.

by definition you are placed if you come 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

Scoop 6 comes as TWO bets. Hence the cost 2 pounds

All win - All placed

It was nice while it lasted. The tote are having a laugh though putting a 27 runner race and the scottish national in the scoop 6!

Yes as a win is also a place.

by definition you are placed if you come 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

Or 4th. in the 2.15 at Newbury[third leg] or the 2.40 at Ayr [fourth leg]

16 or more runners in a handicap pays e/w 1.2.3.4.

Usually when the pool gets this big it's only ever won by the professional syndicates, so it's not really worth the small man doing it.

Some syndicates put anything up to £70,000 in. One bunch has won it 3 times!!

True keith. Only 5 tickets remaining now. I do it when the pool gets big and my place part is still intact,so worth doing for that reason. Didn't really expect the win part!

btw my two remaining are n0.3 in the 5th. leg and no. 3 again in the last leg, both ridden by Fallon.

What annoys me is the Tote takes around 30% out of the pool each week to cover 'costs'!! What costs? The money from the previous week has been sitting in the bank earning interest, and yet they still take their cut each week!

Not sour grapes, but, Fallon's horse drifted in the betting and he didn't seem to ride it out fully to the line, came fourth but could easily of been placed IMO.Cost me the place part of the scoop 6,woudn't be a fortune but would be worth having probably.

Just heard that the winner of the scoop 6 was a small time player and not a syndicate,so that's good news.

Look out for Fort Dignity in the future.Going in my notebook anyway.

Only the 2nd time this year a really small player has won though.

Yes, i thought it would go to a syndicate, glad it didn't.The winner only staked £8,same as me.So dreams can come true.
