can anybody tell me why if theres only £145.00 left in the pool going into the last race, the pool was £45000, why it only payed £832..... Mystified me, i had got it to 50 pence, i thought it would pay well over the dividend it returned. two outsiders got in the frame, plus the favourite but wasnt paper favourite.

Winning over£400 isn't so bad though is it? Unless you had 800 lines!

Didn't see how many winning units there were,but the fav. was placed in the last and remember that the pool is before the tote deduction that would have taken a few thousand out. Well done on your winnings :)

The tote take out around 25-30% for their fees then divide the remainder by the number of winning lines (units).

So,
Pool = £45039
Winning Units = 39.50
Dividend = £832.30

£45039 (Pool) - 27.5% (Tote Fee) = £32653.28 (Pool - Tote Fee) / 39.50 (Winning Units) = £826.67 (Dividend)

Hope that was clear :)

Ah, they're not that bad, they've dropped the amount they take on some bets a while back, sometimes it's only 20%.... :yikes:

That is so very decent of them Big C,will have to put them back on my xmas card list :rolleyes:

The fact that they take such a cut is one of the reasons i only normally get involved in jackpots,scoop 6 when there is a rollover and you are playing with other peoples money.

I think the only other time they pay better than SP even with the amount they take, is on bigger priced winners, but still no where near as good as the exchanges....
