I'm looking to have 1 bet a day, but i want to bet small to win potentially big. Thought about doing a lottery, what is best lottery, is it the national lottery, irish or at the betting shops. I would do 2 or 3 numbers. What statistically is the best value!!
Or should i stick to the horses!!
Any opinions?

gamblers dont do the lottery only mugs
If you want to try a win the big jackpot and dont mind chucking a pound away everytime you do it thats fine, but at odds of 14,000,000/1 i dont bother

Lottery is NOT betting, so you need to choose what you want to do.
If you want to win £Million, then the lottery at around 14,000,000/1+, so in realistic terms you'll never win, and will statistically never cover your stakes.
Betting to make a profit is hard work. Just ask any of the member's on here. You've already shown you think from the point of view of making a long term loss, by wanting instant profit. A pro-gambler would be happy with 3% of turnover, so if he bet £100, and made £3 profit that's a good result.
So if you wanted to make a quick £Million your betting bank would need to be £33,000,000, and if you have that much you don't need to bet for profit :)
Multiple bets pay for the bookies holiday, they DO NOT like single bets.
Your lottery £1 is 'taxed' around 30p, so that's a negative 30% ROI to start with.

:yikes:
Not many of us play ¨ Bingo¨ here Canary - generally a ¨Mugs¨game.....
You could always stick a quid on Norwich to win 7-0 every week - same chance of collecting.....:laugh
Good luck, Merl.

Put 5p on a 10 selection accumulator. Choose some consistant method of picking the selections. Then forget about it. Small stakes big gamble. Might one day come in might not. Have seen days when nearly all the favorites win. Seen days when greyhounds pick by the racing post nearly all won. So the chance that some reasonable consistant method of picking selections might hit big does happen.
However there are better ways of doing this, lower rate of return but satisfying.

I'm a gambler and I still buy the occasional lottery ticket, its cheaper than those £20 fun bets when I like the name!

Nothing wrong with those kind of fun bets, if you're as insane as my mother!
Tuesday:
NAN JAN e/w (2nd 50/1) - her name is Jan and she's a Nan!
GRANDMA LILY e/w (3rd 33/1 - she took 50/1 EP) - her nickname is WhiteLILY and she's a Grandma
Works well sometimes, I remember having LORD BROCK a while back, my surname!

..some one forgot the happy pills today. If you can't take the tongue in cheek innuendo's, don't join in the sarcastic threads.
Everything you say about me/scoucers goes over my head, although that's probably cos I'm a short :butthead:

Oh I can, but there's bad taste, and the nice taste, usually of those ladies I have to resort to paying for (ha!). Anyway, why should I listen, you're just a Scouse (bad enough), Short (probably => fat), butthead (I think you meant shortar5£ really) ;)
At least I don't admit to having to pay Dolly off :D

Now see, he has a go at my comment which everyone knows is humour, and reverts to pathetic direct non-humourous slagging off of myself, and then goes straight into an innuendo (which he has done many times in the past), about me and a sheep.
If you want to be two faced, you need to accept what you get in return, especially when you 'try' to be funny. Your starting to sound like a Tory MP.
Now go into a dark cupboard with a torch and a glossy porn mag, and play with little wiggy until a smile appears on your face. :D
No wonder you got punched a few months back they must have done it as a reflex action from the fright of seeing you :yikes: :laugh
