for some reason or other both my cd roms dropped off my pc not literally but pc couldn't find them.
now i've managed to get my re-righter working but not my main cd rom any ideas

lost them both again this is becoming a pain also hangs on start up presumably looking for the fookers

Upgrade to XP, 98 is no longer supported. :)

if its any help the lights come on at the start so it knows they are there

can't upgrade pc to xp it won't let me for some reason

Your moving to Spain, your making money from gambling, and you can't afford £500 for a laptop :doh

May be worth going into the CP, and deleting them from the hardware list, and rebooting

my 650mhz athlon k7 has never let me down yet.
well untill today.

I had this problem other week mate, I'm afraid I never cured it, :( I'm driveless at the moment, awaiting next time on afters to go in and have them replaced. :anger

now they aren't showing up on my cp so why do they keep coming back then dissapearing

Find out what is conflicting with them, and get rid of it, then reinstall. You don't get conflicts on XP :)

right got them both working there is still a conflict but i've hidden it by pressing the - button all working so not to bothered about a yellow question mark i can't see
