Can`t Log In To A Site

Am trying to log in to a website.. I get the home page but whenever I try to log in i get the message which I have copied below.. I have cookies enabled and have deleted all temporary internet files.. now what ? Site helpers report they have no other probs so it has got to be me but never been like this until now...

You probably need to re-install java.

Available from Sun. Search engine should find it.

got to the java page but from there I`m lost.. millions of things.. please gtell me exactly what I have to re-install and if poss. how ? :hearty

Hi Susan,

I assume you are referring to http://java.sun.com/ ?

I think the one you want is the fourth one down on the right - J2SE 1.4.2 SDK.

This is the one I re-installed when I had problems with java loading.

Looking at those runtime messages Java has thrown up, I doubt you'd need to reinstall it. The only "error" it appears to have detected is the unhandled exception from the login page. That would indicate to me that the IP of the log-in server was either down or else it couldn't be successfully routed by your ISP at the time you tried to access it. Trying to access it again at a later time usually works.

Thanks both... I logged off, forgot about it, then daughter suggested I uninstall and re-install flash shockwave thingy, so did and it seems fine. may be coincidence.. anyway, thanks as always for help..

Strange as Flash/Shockwave and Java aren't related but reloading it obviously sorted out a glitch among your browser objects.
