Can anyone confirm the return for a £1 trixie at Evens, 5/2 and 7/1. Also £1 at Evens, 5/2, and 11/2.

No, it should be more than that. I figure about £107 and £88.

The reason I ask is I think my bookie might've paid out at SP rather than the early price I got, even though that price is shown on my statement.

Yes, they all won. 1st, 2nd, and 7th race at Sandown. The bookie's only paid out £93.88 (including stake) so maybe there was a Rule 4 deduction but, if there was, they normally show that on the statement too.

Okay, I think I've figured it out. Cool Monty was a non-runner in the last race so, presumably because I'd taken the fixed price of 7/1 on Pretty Star, the bookie has made a "Rule 4 deduction".

Kind of stinks to me as they offer the prices and, when the bet is struck, the punter has no idea if any horses are going to be withdrawn. I can understand them making a genuine Rule 4 deduction if the horse is withdrawn less than 10 minutes before the off but, in this case, the bet was struck at 11am. Surely that provides plenty of time for them to form a new market?

I think I've been stung like this before - in fact whenever it's happened I've usually ended up with a smaller return than if I'd just selected the SP in the first place. Makes you wonder why they even bother offering early prices.

What? Where do you get £96 from? Add up both your returns and you get £101.50
Add my "two" bets and you get £195.

And as I've explained, I placed one bet and got £93.88 - I was just trying to figure out how that figure had been arrived at. I don't understand what £96 has got to do with it.
