Hunter Chase

Can anyone explain the difference between a chase and a hunter chase?
I'm sure it's obvious, but I never watch the races!

Hunter chase,
A race restricted to horses that have hunted during the present hunting season.

The Hunter Chase season runs from Feb to June, and can provide some good competitive races - the biggest one is at Cheltenham tomorrow and will be a cracker of a race!

so when hunting is banned what happens to these races

They still hunt but not for foxes :doh They'll also still include Point-to-point qualifiers.
