I recently setup a wireless network to enable our family to share their broadband connection. I have two desktop PC's and a laptop connected via a BT Voyager 2100 ADSL Router. The problem I have is with my brothers laptop, it has a BT Voyager 1060 Laptop Adapter, and although it says that there is an available network it will not connect at all. There is no problem with either of the desktop PC's.

Please somebody help

Paul

Not much experience with networking here but, if your brother has a firewall on his laptop (even the Windows version running), have you checked that it is allowing access to networked computers in its "trusted" area?

Check the security setting on the router too. You may have to tell the router that comunicating with the laptop is ok.

Have you run the Network Connection Wizard on the laptop?

And switch the firewalls off to test it. If it works with then off, you need to set the firewalls to allow it through.

Failing that, change the NAME of the laptop, and then run the wizard again, that usually sorts it.
