Congrats on another excellent profit (albeit with the dreaded increasing stakes - aaah!!).

Could I just ask a couple of questions:

Do you still use the 9 runners or more filter and does this apply to actual starters or just declared runners?

Does the 2/1 minimum filter refer to the Betfair win price of the selection? If so is there a minimum place price under which you wouldn't go (if you know what I mean!)?

Also what has been your highest stake so far?

Thanks mate. Still used the declared 9 horses or al least 3 places filter. The 2/1 minimum filter refers to betfair place odds. I decided to use 2/1 as a minimum because if a selection is 2/1 on bettie you get your stake back £2 plus profit of £2.

This helps to make a clear profit because the increasing stake can eat up profit. If you want to get the stakes down a bit I suggest that you can use 1.80 - 1.90 as a cut off price. All depends how much profit you wanna make I suppose. I have noticed before that if a selection is under 2/1 that they tend to be unplaced most of the times anyway. I was quite surprised the last few days to see some of these actually go and win the race at some very nice prices.

Yes I am but I face a few problems:
1. I can't follow the system on days I work due to security filters at school. So can
only do it over weekends and days not teaching.
2. Also on a trial....first want to see how the system is progressing....looks very good
at the moment.
3. Following at reduced stakes but I am struggling with reduced stakes on bettie. Big
C gave me some advice but I just can't get the small stakes match. A message
comes up every time ..minimum stake £2.

I will give it another 2 weeks and then will start a bank and follow the system the way I am posting it.

To get round the minimum £2 stakes for backing.
Place your £2 bet at 1000, it wont get taken, unless the horse is trading @ 1000 :rolleyes:
When the bet comes back unmatched, alter your stake to £2 + whatever your stake is. i.e. for 50p. Alter stake to £2.50 and resubmit @ 1000.
When it comes back as unmatched again. Cancel the £2 stake and alter the odds on the 50p bet to what you req'.
I hope this makes sense. It's like the opposite of laying for <£2 stake. :)

Hi there Gogga. I've only just read this thread, it looks very interesting!
I've got a few quries however. Firstly, how exactly does the staking work? I know it's explained earlier in the thread, so if say you don't profit on a particular day, you increase stakes by so much. So if you then have a few winners during that day, are your stakes still at the increased amount until you resume back to normal stakes the folowing day? Also, what do these figures and the * mean? 3.45 Ayr - African Gift.....1st...14/1...2.5 * 4.4 = 11....=8.5 and lastly how do you select your horses? It's fine if you'd rather not say :)

After taking a closer look, I realised you're doubling up on each selection. You had a £200 starting bank yet after a few days you had to stake £300, would this not have broke the bank?

Thanks mate...for the interest. When I do these trials I also state a hypothetical bank which could go into zero...cos I don't really bet on them. I only start betting after 30 days...its just to give me a feel for the system before I start to wager my hard earned cash.

Thanks for that. The doubling does make great profits but it's bound to go badly wrong at some point, have you calculated how things would have gone staking the way you do the South African ones? I mean if you really wanted to use it, you couldn't always do it race by race, so day by day staking but not doubling may work out. Just a thought....

I dropped the south african selections because the odds was to small a profit on the south african tote..sometimes 1.30 return for a place.

You could try a stepping plan on these but I didn't do it so far...the idea was to make at least a decent profit.....it hasn't gone wrong yet the last month, but I suppose anything is possible.....so I follow a reduced staking plan (scaled down a bit). I use 10p, 25p, 50p, £1, £2 etc.

I also use the same staking plan at the moment on my trainer/jockey combo place bets and it went well yesterday. I suppose the staking plan is up to the individual...the plan I suggest is merely experimental at the moment.....but I don't think level stakes will work.

selections is done on topspeed of a horse, form, rank in proposed starting price( as the bookmakers work out the chance of every horse to win and not to be placed). There must be at least 9 horses or 3 places.

Oh...I take this system very seriously :yikes: :D ....I don't back on a selection if it is not a £2 minimum qualifier...never ever :D . I was talking about doing doubles and other fun bets...which has cost me dearly :doh ::swear in the past.....so I have decided to stick to my system bets.

Only allow myself to do £5 worh of other fun bets a week..i.e ..horses I fancy in doubles and trebles.
