I think this pic is amazing, especially as you can easily see the massive fault line in the Indian Ocean that the volcano has sprouted from. Maybe we could move the G8 meeting there :)

Great website that Keith! Must be a pretty valuable domain to own!

try this one for some interesting views - click on satellite and zoom in on anywhere in the States - you can view other parts of the world but not in as much detail

Had a look at Washington DC using Google maps, which also gives you satellite photos of the area on the map.... the WHite House has been 'altered' in case anyone spots an unguarded open window...

Haven't been the US yet, had to wait for the missus to get a UK passport, otherwise it's a long winded process. Now we get to visit her friends over the next year in Miami, Ohio, California, Washington & Canada. I just like be fondled by the security :D

Are the 'George Michael' toilets a tourist attraction now? :yikes:

I gave the GM lavvies a miss mate.....decent race track , and an interesting dog track , both worth a visit .

Baseball is fairly low key with the Marlins in town ... College football is a better bet than the Dolphins if you get to take in a game...

I hope to get out towards the end of October for a couple of weeks all being well .

Keep an eye on the weather mate..you are travelling slap bang in the middle of the hurricane season....

Win2Win

Just the end of the hurricanes, but the rainy season. Going to Miami for the Shuttle launch...probably more chance of watching little green men make love to George Bush :yikes:

last time I went , mid Oct , the weather was almost perfect..in the high 80s , shower of rain every day around 5pm , and virtually no humidity....area gets most of its rain in the peak summer months ..esp June , August and Sept.

Wasn't the latest Shuttle launch called off again just a couple of days back ??sa

Yer, it still has a 2 week window for launch, before put back till September. I can always have them launch a nuke at Cuba so I can get a nice pic :)

now if that happened , your best spot would be Key West...couple of beers in Sloopy Joes on Duval St to watch the action....

if you have the opportunity , take your Mrs to Bal Harbour Shops on Collins Ave packed with expensive designer type shops...but leave credit card at home !!!
