Another General Knowledge quiz with a couple of logic teasers thrown in make up the quiz this week....

6. Six cabins, numbered 1-6 consecutively, are arranged in a row and are separated by thin dividers. These cabins must be assigned to six staff members based on following facts.
i. Miss Jones's work requires her to speak on the phone frequently throughout the day.
ii. Miss Scarlet prefers cabin number 5 as 5 is her lucky number.
iii. Mr. Brown and Mr. Smith often talk to each other during their work and prefer to have adjacent cabins.
iv. Mr. Green, Mr. Brown and Mr. Black all smoke. Miss Scarlet is allergic to smoke and must have non-smokers adjacent to her.
v. Mr. Black needs silence during work.
Can you work out each person’s cabin number?
ANSWER
1 Black
2 Green
3 Brown
4 Smith

Scarlet will be no5 because of lucky no. Smith and Brown need to be grouped together and Brown Green and Black need to be grouped together. Because Scarlet needs non-smokers next to her it has to be Jones and Smith on either side so Jones will be no6 and Smith no4 because Smith is grouped with Brown who will then be no3. Because Black needs silence he needs to be away from Smith and Brown so he will be no1 and Green no2.
7. What was FIDO on an airport runway? ANSWER: FOG INVESTIGATION DISPERSAL OPERATION, a method of burning away fog using petrol.
