this may be a long shot, but here goes:
I have a sony video camera, and use hi8 tapes. the cable that connected the camera to the tv (and facilitated recording to normal vhs) is lost. I cant watch any of the old tapes, and the shop i got the camera in said they cant get a new cable
does anyone know how to transfer hi8 tapes to dvd/video?
I have some important stuff such as my daughters christning, birthday etc, so Id appreciate any help.
thanks,
Wayne

that reminds me of when i used to work in Iceland supermarket.
everyone would say 'Iceland........... it must take you ages to get there on the plane every day' and I would have to laugh, pretending I had not heard that excuse for a joke for the millionth time.
Also, people would say 'Is it cold?'
Its was not funny then, its not funny now, and it never will be funny! ;fire
::swear ::swear :anger
Now, Im glad I got that off my chest :)

Had the same sort of thing at work as well Wayne. I work in a hospital lab, and in my last job in Scotland we used to do a diabetic clinic every week, taking wee thumbprick samples of blood to check the patient's blood glucose levels... every week without fail at least one old git (sorry, patient) would say 'oh no it's the vampires' .... I got to the point I was ready to bit one of the old buggers on the neck just to prove them right! :yikes:

My mother is one of them people who say them bloody things :)
In work now (Library) when someone is paying fines, they always say: I could have bought the book for that!
I always think, no you :censored: could'nt. a book costs about 25 euro, you are paying one or two :anger

anyhow, I think I have found the connection I want. If anyone can tell me if this is the correct one, before I hand the cash over, I would be really grateful cos Im useless at this kind of thing.
i have attached a scan of the socket on the camera, and a here is the link to the cable i think i need to buy.
thanks
