Im researching a place betting system and its going OK but i need to know if Betfair would have paid for 4 places on the following race:

Tuesday October 25 - Yarmouth 3:30
Halls Group Lady Godiva Fillies' Stakes (Listed)
3yo plus, 1m 6f 17y, Class 1, £16240 penalty, 11 ran

1 Tarandot 50/1
2 Autumn Wealth 10/1
3 Twyla Tharp 9/2
4 Casual Glance 66/1

I need to know if Casual Glance would have paid out for 4th place on Betfair. If anyone knows or can guess it would be really helpful. I am going to post a new place betting system on the forum today or tomorrow once i have worked out the remaining filters

thanks guys

No, they wouldn't have done.

11 runners is 3 places

Oh well, whats the no. for 4 places Mat, so i dont have to ask again ? :wink

The next race i filtered after that ticked up a 16-1 winner so the system might have some merit :yikes:

If you have 16 runners, and you have a non-runner, it still pays the first 4.

Selections over the last few days read:

NH
3RD 4-1
3RD 11-2
2ND 10-3
4TH 10-1
2ND 4-1
2ND 20-1
3RD 6-1
1ST 16-1
UNP 9-1
UNP 12-1
3RD 16-1

FLAT
2ND 9-1
UNP 12-1
1ST 16-1

6 others came one place out of the medals, a bit like British athletes really.. :D

Im going to continue back-checking but start a system trial today and look at further filters as we go, thanks guys

Always worth reposting this now and again as a reminder:

4 or less runners: no e-w; win only
5-7 runners: 2 places, 1/4 odds
8 or more: 3 places, 1/5 odds
12-15 runners (handicap): 3 places, 1/4 odds
16+ (handicap): 4 places, 1/4 odds

Betfair place markets keep the same number of winners (placed horses) regardless of non-runners. Bookies e/w markets do not
