Gonna do some live paper trading on this for a while, just out of curiosity. I think it may be especially effective at this time of the year. Today's 3 big movers were By Degree (won 11-1), Mini Dare (won 8-1) and Toparudi (16s into 7/2 favourite finished 3rd.

I'll pick out the most significant each day and see what happens...

Thanks Jonny, i've been at it for 2 weeks prior to this and it's showing some very positive results. I just think the time of the year is perfect for a "system" like this.

Good start Fade...
What criteria are you using to judge a "big" mover?

Good start Fade...
What criteria are you using to judge a "big" mover?

My main criteria is obviously the extent of the move but I also check the background of each horse to see if there can be any explanations for the move i.e. long absence, trainer switch, operations, or in the case of rooftop protest today - a significant long traveller. Another factor is the amount of firms that have shortened the horse...if more than 2-3 firms have tightened it, itwould warrant a closer inspection.

Good stuff!

Never really inspected market movers as closely as that before! :)

I think at this time of year, with horses making their debuts and seasonal reappearances, we could do with all the help we can get.

You might look to take a look at this FTB.

They do it every day and give some details on how they rank the significance of each market mover.

Backing all selections, each way included, to a 1pt stakes, returns a profit of 25.1 Pts.

That's on SPs, on almost all selections there was a better price available at the time of posting.
