I see my kids have had another indoor bonfire :D

beleive it or not a similar thing happened at my last workplace. the pub was opposit the firestation (20 yards away) over a busy (gridlocked) road. and some kids set the bins (big industrial ones) on fire with liter fluid.

the fire brigade sent a fire engin from a different station (miles away) which took 10 mins to arrive. by this time the plastic bin burnt to the ground and it was only because of the staff who put it out that the fire didn't spread.

as you could imagine the manager wasn't happy about this and had a word with the firemen. who said that the firestation 20 yard's away was not responsible for our area, ;fire

takes the piss really when there were fire engines outside the station being cleaned.

reminds me of a story when I worked in Iceland supermarket.

It was a few yard away from the hospital. A bloke had a heart attack and collapsed, so we called an ambulance. but some :censored: a***ole had parked their car outside the ambulance exit. it took 20 minutes to get someone around to him which was sadly too late. Sounds funny, but we would have been better off throwing him in a trolley and running down the road with him.
