a race had no winner? :doh Supposing a hurdles race was started with a full field, but before the race finished all the horses had fallen! :yikes: What would happen?

1. Has it ever happened?

2. If you had backed the horse at a bookies, would you lose your stake or get it back?

3. If you layed the horse on the exchange, would it be easy money and you would win?

BHB Rule 465.768 section C paragraph 43

Should all horses fail to finish a race, we keep all the money!

i remember a race quite a while ago (on a saturday i think) where every horse fell, - the betfair market was chaos.

it was only a small field but one hores that fell was being lead back to the paddock when the trainer or someone said go back to where you fell and re-mount (the others had fallen). the jockey re-mounted and won the race.

A certain McCoy did that I think. If I was in the crowd I'd grab a labrador retriever or something near by and pop a few of the fences myself.

yep, I think it was Mccoy. And when his horse fell, someone offered 1000 on him, like what always happens when a horse falls, BUT - someone matched it! Then, the rest of them fall, and McCoy re-mounts and wins. Brilliant:)
