I was talking to a guy last night in the pub, we were talking about gambling. He said somebody had been telling him about a roulette system, it involved 2 people, one betting on red and the other on black in the same spin. Heres the pub bit, he couldnt remember the mechanics of it but it involved, one guy upping the stakes depending on the results and the other lowering his stakes.
He swore it worked, anybody heard of this one, is it another fabled no brainer

i am a bit cynical when it comes to any roulette system - basically as it is a minus expectation betting game.

if 2 people are playing (or even 1 placing 2 lots of bets) on red / black
at level stakes this would be near break even every spin (untill '0' comes round.
so we know because of the '0' level staked wont work 'long term'.
so the staking.
i assume the staking will be:
martingale (upping stakes) on a loser. and
reverse-martingale (reducing stakes) on a winner.
both systems DON'T work 'long term'
they will work untill a run of same colours happens. (say 5 red)
the winning bet's will be small (reverse martingale) and the bets on the black will raise quickly to large sums.
ths will lead to the same problem as the martingale - massive stakes the casino won't take. which won't be recovered by the small bets on the opposit colour.

Roulette systems do not and cannot work. The house has a 2.7% edge on each and every bet regardless of how you bet (inside or outisde bets) and how you stake it. The edge is constant and cannot be overcome by any system.

Roulette system involving 2 people??

Surely this would be the old

pre-defined system,
with 1 person under/inside the roulette table with a strong magnet! :D

I think your talking about the d'Alembert system. Invented for when it was a party toy and there was no zero on the wheel.

I don't know whether that's a

"I'm calling God an e-dit" reply

or a

"God, can this man get any more irritating" reply :D
