temp. internet files

When I go to delete my temporary internet folders, it asks me do I want to delete all offline content. What does this mean? I always click no.

offline contact is the web pages that you can see without a connection to the internet. recently viewed web pages etc that are stored in memory (temp folder). - you can delete them no problem.
