I read on a website (I forget the name) that the bookies on average only make an average of 2% profit on football compared with 18% on horses or do you think thats a load of rubbish. Im alot better on football thats why giving up for good would be annoying.

You can check out the overround values for yourself.

Over the course of a season they make around 1.5% on everything.

Premiership books are usually a 6% or 7% overround. This increases to maybe 10% or 12% for lower leagues and perhaps the foreign leagues. 2% sounds too low for the average figure.
18% for the horses is believable though

He was talking actual profit, not theoretical overround.

He was talking actual profit, not theoretical overround.Good point :)
2% still sounds a bit low for the footy to me though

I wouldn't mind 2% profit from a billion turnover :)
