Hi Ada I would just like reassurance that I have all the rules right.

Is there a maximum number of times that a single number could be used?
i.e could the combination be - 1111121?

Also I will use letters as an example but this is regarding multiple use of numbers too.

If the combination was

CLCRGYZ
and I guessed
CFPLACT
Would you reply saying I had 3 correct letters ( in blue clc)
one in the correct place ( first c) ?
Or have I got this totally wrong?

Yep, Silax has correctly confirmed your query.

Also, that's right, there is no limit to the number of times a single digit can occur in the combination.

Another thing some people question...

If the correct combination is:
CLCRGYZ,

and you chose...
CFPLACL,

I would STILL reply...

You have correctly picked 3 of the combination letters OF WHICH 1 is in the correct position of the combination sequence....
(1 C in correct position, the other C and one of the L's, NOT both).

The fact that you chose TWO 'L's (along with the 2 C's) DOESN'T mean that you have correctly picked 4 letters, because there is only ONE L in the correct combination, so only ONE of yours can be counted as correct.

Hope this makes some kind of sense.....as some people get this rule wrong, and therefore never get to fully work out the correct combination.
