Trojan is a type of virus. Type the specific virus name into Google and see what it says

Tells me it is a virus.. and advertises all sorts of removal programmes.. which I know nothing about... how has it got through Norton, always updated, plus a firewall ?

very nasty - don't buy there software (they infected the virus in the first place)
- there is a thread somewhere about it.

I brought some Trojan Gold in America last year.
Mrs Sparky wanted me to get the silver ones. She said it would be nice for me to come second occassionally.

If as you say NORTON flashed up a warning then this means Norton recognised the virus and therefore stopped any access to it, Norton sometimes cannot repair the file therefore all you can do is delete the file, of course it may be a needed file or will only reappear due to registry etc hence why you need the removal instructions.

Check out the Norton website on the virus and it will give you some removal instructions, carefully read them, if your unsure then post the name of the virus here and I'll look into it and post back simple details, thats if no-one else does :D
