Keith, I think I read somewhere that these backing and lay systems were methods that have been systemized, correct me if im wrong, If that is the case then are they still pretty easy to follow, am interested purely because I suspect there will be fewer followers who will stick them out in comparison to the members bets.

The qualifiers can be identified in a matter of minutes Pod, it's all very easy

I said that without moving my lips :) Always said Mat was a dummy :laugh
The Flat Win system probably takes the longest, as you have to click on an extra button on the RP site! The lay systems are simple though, surprised I never thought of them!

Just to add my own review, I have been testing both the Lay Systems in the Horses To Lay Section while I made sure of the selections and to just see the systems in action and I think it can be seen that, although it is early days, both systems are keeping up with the stats provided with them and the selections do not take much processing at all. I am going to start both systems properly from the start of May and hope to report good bank increases along the way...:D
I don't think any of the systems need 'selling' to existing Members or regular users of W2W as we all know that Keith is very genuine and wouldn't put systems out to us that didn't work..:wink :yikes: .. and he has been very helpful to me with both systems..:) ..but for people looking in I would say that you should expect these systems to do what they say on the tin and this site is one of the best around..:D

The Flat Lay System had 3 selections in the 6:55 @ Yarmouth, all at the top of the betting, and a horse call Smile For Us certainly did as it beat all 3 for a clean sheet from 5 selections for me - one more was over the betfair limit so not layed..:)

The chances of anyone 'nicking' the system and being patient enough to run it as a professional are close to zero, so we can count the freeloaders out. I will monitor them, but I've put in enough flexibility to handle a lot of money, especially the lays.
Remember they are all based on trends that haven't changed for year, and I've been punting them with my £1

I was messing round with the figures in the boxes and was horrified to see what difference a couple of percent here or there makes. If you take SP and give 5% commission with a £500 starting bank, taking 10% per year, staking 3% of the bank, profit over 8 years is just £1,800.
Just getting 5% better odds on bet fair gives you £20,000 over the 8 years. So it is critically important that you get a price better than SP. This in turn tells me that the way to do this is to put the bet on just before the off. If you can't then this may make a significant differnece to your profits.
Fortunately my commission rate is 3.75% so that helps me lots. Doubles my profit.
Just thought I'd pass this on........
and please don't post the selections on here....we've all paid our cash to get the system.....not having a go or anything.....:D
wiseman33

and please don't post the selections on here....we've all paid our cash to get the system.....
Have to agree with Nick here and say sorry for my earlier post.:( With the win system could I suggest that from now on if we want to help each other we only post how many selections there are not the names or times, if we post the time its clear from the above posts which horse we are talking about.
So for example if somebody posts 3 today and somebody else gets 2 they know to look again.

Just looked at tomorrow too Nick and can find none either.
If you look further up the thread, I didn't have Jaad as a qualifier today either as it was in a "grey area" as far as the selection criteria goes. It was joint forecast favourite but the other horse was not a qualifier.
Decided to give it a go anyway and it lost. I suspect that as long as you are consistent in these circumstances then it will even out over time.
I am sure Keith will clarify either way. :)

Flat Win System - Day 3
Today's starting bank £176.54
1 selection:-
Assertive - £5.30 matched at 2.69 (SP 2.63) - Won.
5 selections since 30.04.06 - 1 winner.
New bank after commission £185.03.
Last night Assertive was drifting slightly so I left an order at 5 for it that did not get matched. When I logged on this morning it was shortening so I took the price at the time. Got 3.3 so I am very happy.:wiggle:
peza2605
4th May 2006, 08:56
i got 2.86 on assertive, but if id put it on in the morning id have gotat least 3.4.
this is the only trouble i have, deciding when to place the bet as there was one selection the other day whos odds were a lot better at race time than the morning.
so what im gonna do is on my night off place the bet at race time ,and when i have work place it in the morning and go to bed and forget about it.

Hi I am a new member as of today and I am unsure on how the systems work particularly the System Lays and false lays is it just back them all at a stake that your betting bandk allows or is there more to it?
Any help would be appreciated
Regards
Normski
Hold on to your cash Normski, till you've done a good bit of reading on the site. First I hope that you meant lay rather than bet for the system and false lays. When laying you need to be sure what you're doing or you will come a cropper at some point. Take a trip up to the members area of the forum, and have a good read. The Golden Balls section is the best starting point. Ask whatever questions you like up there and one of the regular layers will be along soon to give you the help you need.

On the flat win system, it is mentioned that the selection needs to be in the top 6 in the weights. If the weight is tied with the 6th horse then is it a qualifier?
e.g. horses 6 to 10 all have the same weight and the selection is number 10.
Let me know.

Quick question for Keith on the Jumping For Profit system. Apologies if this has already been asked previously.
In relation to the beaten lengths variable, does the horse have to have finished the last race or would "pulled up" etc. still qualify?
Many thanks in anticipation.
Win2Win
28th May 2006, 10:55
Pulled Up is not a distance, so no.
jonahjones
28th May 2006, 11:00
My thinking behind the question was that 99.9% of horses who pull up, fall or unseat rider will, effectively, have lost the race by more than the requisite distance.
Thanks for the clarification Keith. :)

It's ok i got there, remembered your ebay id from last time I looked, just wanted to download results was all. Isn't it amazing the difference just 10% overbet can make? Saying that, at those short prices when we're laying, we hope to overlay 5%. Do you think we can average 10% quite easily?
Win2Win
4th June 2006, 21:49
10% is achievable over time, but I'd say 12% is an average.
Updated all the bits now, the systems now have there own web sites :)
Profit Seeker
4th June 2006, 22:19
Up the overbet by simply 0.5%, so that's the same as getting 3.21 for your 2/1 instead of 3.2, and your bank has an extra 25% over the 8 years! :yikes: That really outlines the importance of prices does it not? Am I just being stupidly naive here or does that amaze anyone else?
tophatter
5th June 2006, 00:11
It dont amaze me PS as it is compound interest and 8 years is a long time. As I have said when I write my pro-losers diary the most important ratios are strikerate and average price of the winners and a shift in either of those can make a big difference longterm. Thats why I always bang on about following the rules and not skipping on and off when times are hard because if you make the strikerate lower by doing that it follows that you have to get the average price of the winning horse lower to compensate.
Profit Seeker
5th June 2006, 01:12

Any chance you can tell me how to incorporate a ratchet plan into the spreadsheet Keith uses on his ebay systems Mat?I assume by this you mean x% staking or last stake if that is greater, yes?
Break it down into a series of simple rules and then create the formula using those rules.
1) if x% of bank > last stake then stake = x% of bank
2) else stake = last stake
Best to round your stakes off to 2 dp too using Round(stake, 2)

No <> in VBA or Excel formulae
i was refering in excel to < lesser than and > like this
=IF($J$20="","",COUNTIF($J$20:$J$1000,">0")/COUNT($J$20:$J$1000))
and not them both together like this <> just to prevent confusion :)
