Sounds like your PSU has failed.

If it is still in warranty don't even open the case up, send it back. New PSUs are cheap and easy enough to fit but why should you have to do it? You bought a new PC, why should you have to mend it?

It made a loud bank and flashed and is now lifelessSomething electrical has gone pop then, probably the PSU. Try it with a different power lead just to make sure it wasn't the lead that got fried.

Just PHONE the company and tell them to collect it, as it is there responsibility. If they decline, tell them the order is cancelled under the Distance Selling Act 2000.

Never actually heard a computer go BANK before :D

Whatever you do, don't buy from the high street they have a 100% markup. Think of it as overlaying 100% :yikes:

I've bought plenty of Aries for people, never had a problem with them. Probably best to just let them send you another, otherwise they'll give you a refund no problem.

My guess is it happened in transit, as all the Aries are burn tested before being shipped out.

At least you've got customer service, my ISP doesn't have any, but they are happy to blackmail you. :)

They said they would refund but said in the email

"We reserve the right to reject any requests which do not meet the appropriate criteria. If this happens we will provide details as to the reason why the request was rejected.
Thank you."

so was a bit worried need a system quick so might go shopping tomorrow

They've got to refund you mate if you want one.

They'll probably offer to replace the existing one. A repair shouldn't be a problem, the PSU's are modular and it's a case of 'just' slotting in a replacement.:)
