It's just a typo, I think. Means "poxy server" ... as in "Must be a problem with the poxy server, John, innit?" :geek

Its a copy of the first server they started with but as internet traffic grew they copied it to handle the extra trafic - does the same job by proxy. If you update the origional server software then automatically the proxy servers get updated. - but I'm just guessing at the answer.
