can anyone tell mewhat the longest distance race on the flat?

Royal Ascot's Queen Alexandra stakes is 2m 6f, but apparently that has been shortened slightly to 2m 5f 159yds because of the redevelopments at the course. Pontefract has a 2m5f race - that was a couple of weeks ago.
Newmarket has it's historic Town Plate race at 3m6f, which would make it the longest flat race in the world, but it's not run under normal rules - check the link for more details on that one

Many races at Newmarket start in Cambridgeshire and finish in Suffolk.

Most of my picks are still in Cambridgeshire when the winner is home in Suffolk:(
