almost timeform

went to the derby last weekend and had a great time not very profitable but purchased my timeform and was looking at the ratings when i got home ,and found that if you add 14pts to the best racing post rating ran in the last six races then ajusted it to todays weights it was,nt very different from the timeforms rating it picked out on saturday 16/1 16/1 20/1 from the top 3 ratings has anyone else done anything similar i would like to know pebbles

sorry sparkyminer if you log onto the racing post site you will need to be on the racing post site then select a race if you click onto the horses name it will give you a rating how it ran lto in fact how it ran in almost every race it ran it will give you a rating a racing post rating if you add 14pts to that rating then re-ajust to todays weights it is very similar to the timeform rating i assumed that most people would be familiar with the racing post site

i will try and give you an example one horse in the hunt cup if it runs STRONGHOLD lto it ran racing post handicap figure of 117+14=131 it carried 9 stn 8 lto and looks to carry 9 stn 8 in the hunt cup so its almost timeform rating is 131 hope that explains it a little better cant think how to explain it more sorry:doh

sorry again this procedure will have to be repeated for the last six runnings turf to turf sand to sand ,ect ect then take the best rating so you have how the horse ran on its last six runnings at todays weights just like timeform

the almost timeform top ratings for the hunt cup are bustan 133,stronghold 131,unshakable131,and with the draw the way it was yesterday stronghold maybe the pick today

Sorry pebbles, I just use the RP site for information and do the odd bit of programming now and then. I know nothing about Timeform. It may just be that nobody else does either.

We could post a pole to find out how many use Timeform. :spinning
