RSB - if th Autoexec.Bat goes missing (this is removed by some virus checkers) then RSB produces an error.
There is a backup folder somewhere that alows you to restore these 'extreemly old' files.

A run-time error 5 message is usually caused by an incompatibility with a Visual Basic program. The solution is to download the latest version of the Visual Basic run-time files - version 6 is available here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=7B9BA261-7A9C-43E7-9117-F673077FFB3C&displaylang=en
Download and install the update then restart your PC.
Another possibility (although I think it's unlikely given that you're experiencing this problem intermittently) is that the targetting of your programs is using Universal Naming Convention, e.g. http:\\, rather than mapping directly to a physical drive. You can check this by right-clicking on the program's launch icon and selecting Properties. Under the Shortcut tab, make sure that both the Target and Start In boxes map to a drive, e.g. C:\Program Files\etc... rather than \\Program Files\etc...
