I don't see how it could work if it wasn't online. Surely this is a silly question.

From the Disclaimer;
Under the T&C of this software, it will only work when the user is online. This enables the software to update the message box, and does not exchange any other information with your computer, or use cookies, or any other monitoring of your system.
The software is free, but in order for some costs for R&D to be recovered, live ads will appear in the message box, as well as other free info, and any updates. Simple as.
