my new pc has a 250gig hard drive should i partition it and what would be the best sizes if i do? also ive taken the drives out of the old pc is there any way of accessing them without actually putting them in the new pc?

There isn't really much point in partitioning a drive unless you have a specific reason for doing so.

Try searching on google for "External hard drive caddy" - you should be able to pick one up for less than £20.
