Anyone have any experience of using Skype for internet telephony ?

Im looking to install something basic at home to use on my laptop ( Macbook Pro) and a more comprehensive bit of kit at work for 6 telephones, preferably hands free babies for telephony and 2 or 3 webcams to communicate with suppliers overseas.

Having browsed various websites there is a bewildering range of phones, speakers etc out there and conflicting reports on what works well.

I'm after decent quality not necessarily cheapest of the cheap as for work they have to be reliable and good call clarity.

To be honest I'm not even clear on how the flipping things work!

Any help would be appreciated :)

You can use Skype with a £1 microphone if you're a cheap skate :D

Don't buy the Linksys phone, drivers are poo.

I bought these last week http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?quicklinx=441S&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=philips+skype&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=0&InMerch=1
...and bloody excellent....allows normal BT & Skype calls from the same phone, easy to use, and a nice clear speakphone.

I had a feeling you would be in on this :D

Do you just connect them to your pc then, usb and a bit of software ?

That's all.

Just use them as a normal phone, but if you want to use Skype, you press the red S.....and Superman appears :doh.....erm.....sorry, you access Skype!!! You can also do the normal ring from phone 1 to 2, etc....

All connects via normal phone line & USB to the base unit, the two phones can go anywhere, you can probably add more phones, but didn't read that bit :)
