Give it 3 weeks if your own selections.

In my opinion at the start of the season it is best to concentrate on trainers in form. Many trainers find it difficult in the first month or so and their horses are not capable of showing their true form. Some, like Barry Hills and John Dunlop often get away to a good start. However, the best way to find trainers in form is to look in the Racing Post on the "Todays Trainers" page. This gives the number of wins, places and runners each trainer has had in the last 2 weeks. Alternatively, look on the Racing Post website, go to the race you want and click on each trainers name. This gives the 2 week record in more detail.
Trainers in form is an important thing to consider at any time but particularly early season. It will also help to reduce losing runs.
Remember though a big trainer will always have more runners and winners than a small trainer. Its the percentage that counts.
