That is true and im amazed you can get 4/5 on Internacional who are 5-1-2 at home while vasco da gama are 1-1-5 away from home. O well brazilian footie it throws up some weird stats every once in a while. Internacional will probably cruise to victory tonight and botafogo will draw or lose to throw me a curve ball

St Patricks v UCD
I had this one down as a draw…..and looking at the stats and odds, the draw is certainly a decent price to boot…
From 18 home St Pats fixtures (head-to-head)..there have been 7 home wins…..9 draws…and 2 aways……
The home win is best priced @ 1.63 which is a bookies price…….however, the draw @ 11/4 with Blue Square is worth taking….

Hi Merlin
I've got the Dundalk game down for a draw today, so I think I'll give this game a miss, or maybe i'll have a wee bet on unders.
I fancy Aberdeen to give Hearts a good game today, althought they lost this same fixture 3-1 last season? I think their home record has improved a lot since then. It's still far to early in the season to be confident about certain picks in the Scottish Leagues, but I l do ike a gamble, so it's the Dons for me at 11/8 @ Coral
Merlin

Hi Mont,
Welcome to WIN2WIN , mate....nice to see you...
My first instinctive pick was a draw too, in the Cobs game…but after looking at the stats…head-to-head……etc….I think Cobs have a real good chance of winning away…and at the price too, is worth a shilling or two…
Are the Dons a MONTY BET, mate?
If so I am on….:yikes:
PS: MONTY BETS….are Montys picks…he is a great picker of Scottish football…..the best I have seen on the net…..

Hi monty!
Glad to see You here also!
I've picked my first game today - Waterpolo World League final in Peking.
Hungary - Serbia.
We are quite good this time (again), but we are lacking some 3 vital players: Ikodinovic, Vujasinovic i goalkeeper Sefik for this game.
There is great rivalry between these too teams, but I think that Hungars will win this game because we are not complete.
So, I'll take Huns on 1.90.
I'm sorry because I'm posting this late, it won't happen again. This time take some live betting if you want...

It looks like easy game for Cruz, America RN is pretty weak at home 1-0-8 (5:17 goal diff.). As you see, I'll try to pull-out myself for this day with this game... :)
In any case, it looks more certain then any other for today...

I'm in big dilemma...
Djurgrden 1 or Brondby 2, or both?
Luckly, both values are over 2.00 so i'll probably take them both...
So,
First pick:
Djurgarden - Hammarby - 1 at 2.20 (6/10)
Djurga Home record: 7-0-1 (15:6)
Hammarby Away record: 0-3-5 (7:15)
plus Djurga needs this points desperately and Hammarby doesn't...
Second pick:
Viborg - Brondby - 2 at 2.00 (6/10)
Viborg Home record: 0-0-1 (0:5); Viborg overall rec 0-0-4 (1:11)
Brondby Away record: 0-0-2 (0:6); Brondby overall rec 1-1-2 (5:8)
Ok, Brondby is bad at the moment...but, it is hard to be bad as Viborg. I think that is time for Brondby to get away win, especially because Viborg is too bad to score a goal. After all, here we have 2 completely different classes od teams.
All in all, I'm 100% sure that at least one this two picks will be a winner so I won't be in deficit for today.
Good luck guyz!

Do you fellas keep ratings etc or just go off instinct, intimate knowledge of the players or what?
MaxySerb
13th August 2007, 23:31
I'll just say that I'm very, very glad that I've joined this forum. It's a nice atmosphere, like domestic, and that is most important for me.
I must say that I'm enjoying football and that I'm trying to make a decent living from the betting because I'm a student and here in Serbia you can't work (have a job) and be successful on college.
@to MattR
Yes, that's right...he was pretty good. That was a good times for Red Star...and then the stupid civil war begun and all our leagues (Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, B&H, Slovenia) become equal to rubbish because all good teams were consisted of players from all this countries...
I hope that Red Star won't lose tomorrow because I want to enjoy rematch in Belgrade. I have a season ticket. :)
And on Marakana (yes Merlin, we have Maracana too :) - but smaller, 59000 seats) Red Star never lose. In past too years, in Euro cups, on Marakana we have beaten PSV, Roma, Braga...we lost only from Milan last year in CL. Red Star supporters are fanatics, stadium is always overcrowded (in Euro cups) and Serbian football have only one really good side - determination! So, if we don't lose tomorrow in Glasgow...we can go trough next round.
I have read that Rangers (especially Beasley) are already accusing Red Star supporters that we are racists. That's a absolute rubbish, we have 3 key players with dark skin and we absolutely love them (Ibrahima Guy, Castillo, Lukas). I was kind'a angry when I've saw that because I'm against racism in every way and I have zero tolerance for every other discrimination.

Off course that I'm going on every match with some vital informations (weather, available squads, motivation...) and instinct is a important for me too.
But, it is much easy to collect that informations from various leagues than from small leagues.
Like I said, betting isn't a game for me, I'm making a living and trips (I like to travel more than anything) from it. It's like a job that I'm enjoying. Yes, I have to spend some hours in front of monitor to collect info's, but...after all, profit is that what it counts. Merlin saw my previews on some other forum. We can make a personal bank statistics if you like, I'll be glad to do it.

I like to bet on European football and quite often lay the opponents when Red Star and also Dinamo Zagreb are at home. Looking back on recent years it seems they very rarely lose at home. Is Cverna Svedsa Serbian for Red Star? Is it fairly safe that those two will not lose at home in the league except perhaps to two or three other teams?
MaxySerb
14th August 2007, 00:01
Yes, that is quite true.
You were close with Red Star - on serbian is Crvena(red) Zvezda(star).
You are also right with Dinamo Z., their supporters (Bad Blue Boys) are fanatics too.
In domestic league, Crvena Zvezda and Partizan almost never loses at home. If something like that happens that's because Partizan or Zvezda beat eachother. They have approximately only one or two lost games at home per season. And there I'm counting Euro cups.
For example, in last 3 seasons Zvezda lost only 2 games at home in Euro Cups (Rosenborg 0:1 (penalty in 88. min) and AC Milan (Pipo at the start of the match)). And we played against some strong teams: Lazio, Chievo, Roma, Braga, Liberec, PSV...

Here we go.....from not having many games to choose from, we suddenly have a shed-full:yikes:....
Don’t usually like betting in cup games, but feel a little safer selecting a game where both teams are from the same league….

merl you"ve had 5 points on swansea to win, is the 5 points based on the price, confidence, or % of your bank im just curious how you decided on 5 points also ( and feel free to tell me to **** **f ) how many points would be a max bet if you dont use a % of your bank :)

My footy bets are always between 1 and 10 Points….according to price and confidence…:yikes:
I have only had 5 maximums this year….4 of them won…..
So 1 through 3 points is a small bet..
4 through 6 points is a medium bet….
7 through 10 points is a large bet…
A point of course could be anything…a tenner….25 quid…..etc….but of course a point has to be a consistent stake…

Hi Paul
Your right mate, I've also just read that some people are looking for me on another forum. I don't know why the guy called Radoslav1 is so keen to know what I'm betting, maybe he won on a few of my tips last season.
Once the Scottish season has reached week 4 or 5 I'll maybe start posting again on that site again, as well as this one. It would be better to wait till the early season games are by and there is a bit of form to go by.
There seems to be a lot of forum members on that site interested on the Scottish games I can only hope that this site is the same.
I do like to have a bet on the Scottish Leagues, as I know these teams better than any of the other leagues, when the Scottish season is over? I tend to bet on the Irish Leagues, as I've made so good profit from the Ericom leagues in the past.
And a wee warning...;fire I should let everyone know I do have losing bets as well,:headbange When I do post up a tip I've always got money placed on it myself, so if my tip wins I win :happyboun and if it loses I've lost :anger

Hi merlin...I'm not sure what to do about that other forum. There seems to be a lot of people expecting previews from me all the time, the majority of the members are fine and they have followed my tips for the last two seasons and I really don't want to let those members down, but there seem to be a few forum members on there who keep pushing for me for tips all the time, and the last thing I want to do is be pushed into picking a bet that I don't really want to bet on. I would rather just do my homework and post my tips when I'm ready, instead of all the rush-rush-rush thats expected on the that other forum.

Merlin my local club Ayr Utd will play away to Hamilton Accies in the Cis Challenge Cup tonight. Ayr have lost their first 3 games of the season 2-0, 5-0 and 3-2. Hamilton are a division above Ayr Utd and have won there first three games 2-1, 2-1, and 2-0 Going by this you would think Hamilton should wipe the floor with Ayr but this Cup is a mickey mouse cup and bigger clubs never seem interested in it.
The Hamilton manager has already said he plans to rest several of his key players. I'm going to take this game to be over 2.5 goals and also small bet on Ayr Utd to win and the draw just for an interest.

Ok, a little preview for tonights game Rangers - Red Star Belgrade
First of all, I'm supporter of Red Star.
Red Star squad:
Tonight, Red Star will play in 4-5-1 formation an here are some vital info's about squad:
Suspended player: Basta (quite good right wing back, one of the regulars and key players)
Injured player: Lukas (?) (He is with team, but we don't know will he play. He is very good DM, great ant strong long shooter.)
Probable squad:
GK: Randjelović (standard goalkeeper, very reliable)
DF:
Andjelković
Bronovicki (Right&Left back, big boost for our defence from Poland)
Tutorić
Guaye (Very, very strong centre back, not so fast though)
MF:
Milovanović (captain, very good player, next Dejan Stankovic. He gave some outstanding performances for the U21 on last competition this summer when we were second)
Milijaš (he have nice long shots, he and Milovanovic are regular free kicks takers, nice passing, very slow though)
Castillo (he is regular in Ecuador representation, outstanding like DM and he also know to score some vital goals, especially headers)
Rašković :splapme
Koroman (far the best Red Star player. Many of you know him from Portsmouth. He is fast, good technique, nice trough passes, good shooter)
FC:
Đorđević (He is bad. Very, very bad. Bad as hell. He come to RS this season like best scorer of Serbia second league. Some of coaches predicting him a bright future, but I simply can't see it happen. He is simply too bad.) :geek He is so bad that I think that this is some wicked trick from our new manager.
Substitutions:
Molina - maybe best boost for RS this season. He still didn't gel in squad, but it is obvious that he is a great player.
Barcos - Best scorer of Ecuadorian league last season (24 goals). He supposed to be a BIG boost for RS, but he simply didn't gel in some previous matches. He is still without a scored goal.
Rest of the substitutions are not special in anything.
Red Star form:
Well...it wasn't a great start of the season. RS played some 3 competitive matches this season, 2 in CL and 1 in domestic league.
In CL against Levadia, we won at home 1-0, but lost in Thalin 2-1. After that bad performance, manager was sacked and we have a new one - Miroslav Kosanovic (very good manager). He had his debut some 4 days ago against Cukaricki - 0:0. He wasn't furious, he told the newspaper that he is aware that this squad have their minds in Glasgow already.
Public expectations from this game:
We really do think that we can pass trough this round. In last two years, in this round Red Star had some very though opponents - PSV (get trough the semi-finals) and AC Milan (champions). We won on Marakana against PSV (3:2), but lost by Milan (1:2). Everybody are seeing this as chance of generation. So, be sure that tonight Red Star players will give all they can not to lose and that they will left their harts on the field. We are confident that we can beat Rangers on Marakana, so draw tonight is all that we need.
Be sure that Beasley will receive a special treatment tonight due to his lies in newspapers about racism. He also scored a goal against RS two years ago for PSV. They will go like dogs for him.
Verdict:
Rangers is a better team. They will probably win. However...If there is a draw tonight in CL, it will be on this game. Beware.
Red Star and Rangers have a history. They have trashed Rangers in Belgrade the same year when they were Champions of Europe and the World '91. (In Glasgow there was 1:1, and in Belgrade 3:0 - see here for more info's - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/scotland/6942865.stm).

Hi to all. Looks like my password hiccup is finally sorted. Your thoughts on the 'cup' games in Scotland are bang on. Having said that, I thought it would have swayed you away from betting on the games, although you seem to be advising small stakes/interest only bets, so I'm agreeing and disagreeing with you.
Raith Rovers v St Johnstone falls into the same category for tonight. Rovers won't be at full strength and fitness test may rule out one or two more players before kick off. I've gone for 2-1 to the Saints, as Merlin may have seen on their site, but won't be betting as there are too many questionmarks over these games, and as some of you will know, I'm a shrewdy.

Thanks mate, I was utterly & totally confused with Ze Pelle there, I really thought I had missed something. As for the management? I still don't understand why he had to ask for new people to do the Scottish Previews, nobody was writing any previews for the Irish Leagues? and I didn't see him asking any of the members to do that league. I do believe he wanted a change, maybe I didn't write enough for him during last season, but as I said before I only write previews for the games that I'm prepared to bet on.
When I think of it? I was the 2nd top preview writer on G.G according to the payments, so it can't be that.

I think you've got it spot on Merlin, the G man will want as many previews as possible for his site, as he will make plenty of money from them. I suppose to be fair to him he does make it clear before anyone starts writing for the site that each preview will only earn you enough for a beer.
