View Full Version : Accessing Betfair

My access to Betfair has been cut at the office.

So, it looks like I need an alternative.

Is the best option a PDA?

Apart from buying the PDA, are there any other runing costs?

Will the screen be similar to the one on my pc?

Is it just like a mobile with internet access, doesn't need any plugging in or owt?

Will it be ready to use after I buy it, i don't have to get any add-ons or accessories or install anything?

Thanks.

Hi Vegy,

Hope youre ok mate. :D

Id be interested in the replies to this...I know Keith said the other day in a thread that you should get the V1605 which I guess is on Vodafone? I have been checking the rates of downloading data and it seems to vary on what call plan you are on I think.:doh

The V1605 is made by HTC and they make similar models for all suppliers.

Betfair doesn't use much data, as you use the Lite version.

Install Onspeed....that'll get round it :) ......or search the computer section here for PROXY

vegy i am using a evta version of betfair spftare... this means that i don need to browse into the main site of betfaior.com

instead using the software, its just like a lighter version of the main site, but u can view almost everything the main site has... u can lay, back, etc... but one downside is u muist bet in whole numbers, no decimals allowed... for example 3 pounds ior 5 pounds, never 2.15 pounds

just download this from the extra panel

So, should I specifically be looking for an xda?

Will a regular phone that has WAP capabilities be sufficient.

I only want it to access Betfair during the day! That's about all really!

No, a PDA. Pick some you can afford, put them on here, do not buy before doing that.

WAP is no use for Betfair.....and what about the more important FORUM ACCESS!!!!

I can get forum access at work :D

So, can you get PDA's on a monthly contract like a mobile.

You know, where you pay next to nothing for the device??

Win2Win

Depends on the contract. Phone & Data, T-Mobile do the best data packages.

what about that one?

Win2Win

Close...T-Mobile Web 'n' Walk you want, as you get plenty of browsing, it can add up on other contracts.

Wouldn't this do better for looks? http://mphone.mobiles.co.uk/t-mobile-nokia-7373-powder-pink.html

The question is........Is it worth getting a phone with contract, to access just one site, that costs you more money? I only recommend these things for people who are already profiting as an extra.

If I were you, I'd paper trade and save the money, until you can prove to yourself you can profit, otherwise you're just wasting money.

You may be right there.

And tis a lot of money to spend just to access Bettie.
Well, I've just connected my home PC, so might just have to put my bets on the night before for the time being!

But thanks for the help Keith! Much appreciated old fella' :D
