Howdy,
A while ago I lost the remote control for my hi-fi (Sony CMT-CP11) so thought I'd try and find an exact replacement...
I have found it here: http://www.espares.co.uk/part/sony/cmtcp11/p/1090/763/0/527255/513377/sony-rmscp1-remote-contro.html
But look at the price! :yikes:
Yet on US-based sites it's something like $36 + ridiculous delivery charge.:doh
So, if anyone has this hi-fi system as their "old" system which has the remote control with it, I'll happily buy the remote off them for a reasonable price! Hundred quid for a remote control... I'm speechless... the hi-fi cost about £200 or something! :ooo

Works out cheaper to buy the full system with everything included off eBay than it does just to buy the remote on its own..... :laugh

I could indeed... :) However, using the remote enables me to set up a 'wake-up call' on the hi-fi i.e. program it to play music at a certain time. Without the remote I am unable to do that on the hi-fi itself.
As I can't do that at the moment, I got some alarm clock software that ties into iTunes. I have to leave my Mac on all night so that my chosen iTunes song wakes me up at the time I set it for, but it's just not the same as using the hi-fi! Macs also aren't power-crazy like PC's are. :)

Cheers Merlin, I'll try and hunt one down. A lot of the universals seem to be for TV's though? Clue is in the name, I know, but many of the specs seem to be tv-based...

Why don't you get one those thingys like I got? It's circular in shape and stands on three little legs and has a little bell on top.
All I have to do wind it up, set the little hand to whatever time I want to wake, put it on the bedside table and that's it, works a treat and wakes me up every morning.
Mind you, the thought of wakening up to Saint-Saens 2nd Organ Concerto is tempting!
