The eSafe combination comprises 9 characters.......7 digits (0 through 9), & 2 letters, (A, B, C, D or E).
Digits & letters can/may appear more than once in the combination. The letters can appear in ANY position in the combination sequence.

Each player has 2 combination guesses a week ( 1 for Saturday & 1 for Wednesday Thunderball draws) that can be made BEFORE the draws take place.

After each draw, the Thunderball owner's combination status will be revealed for all to see.

In normal play you can only win the game when your Thunderball is drawn and your corresponding combination revealed. For exception to this rule...see below.......

Everyone else's combination guess will be awarded points.......1pt for a correct combination character which is in the WRONG position of the combination sequence & 2pts for a correct combination character in the CORRECT position of the combination sequence, for all to see.
However, only your TOTAL points achieved will be displayed for each draw

The points you accumulate during the game can be used to 'buy' certain privileges....ie, hide the points value of your combination(s) from other players; convert your points values into an actual combination status; & ultimately post your chosen combination to win the game 'out of turn', that is, even when your Thunderball has NOT been drawn....

12pts....Hide one of your combination's points value from other players.
15pts....Convert one combination's points value to actual status for all to see.
20pts....Convert one combination's points value to actual status for your eyes only.
30pts....Post a combination 'out of turn' in an attempt to win the game, ie, at any time, even when your Thunderball is not drawn.

If you wish to hide/ convert your chosen combination(s) values/status from other players by making use of the points you have accumulated......please make this known when you post your combinations.

Points values for your choices will only be displayed after everyone has posted.
The person whose Thunderball is drawn will have their combination status revealed for all to see.......

Combination Status......explained........3/2 means you have correctly identified 3 combination characters OF WHICH 2 are in the correct position of the combination sequence.

Chosen combinations can only be used once.
Duplicating them to boost your points will score nothing.
Make sure each combination you post is different from ANY posted previously.

Post 1 of this thread is where all the draw/game details will be logged/updated.

You may now submit your chosen combination for Draw 1 in time for Saturday's Thunderball draw.

An alternative you may prefer is to wait until the up-coming Thunderball draw has taken place.
As soon as ALL 7 choices for a particular draw have been submitted, either before that draw or up to 24hrs after, is when the points value will be displayed for each chosen combination. The combination status will be displayed for the Thunderball owner's combination.
ALL COMBINATION CHOICES WILL BE DISPLAYED IN THE POST 1 TABLE.
The points value and/or combination statuses will also be displayed UNLESS you wish to use your points to hide/convert combination values. You must specify this when you submit your choice. This will become more important as the game progresses.

You may also post future draw choices in advance if you wish, however, their points value will not be displayed until AFTER the previous draw has taken place & all 7 choices have been submitted..

You have until 20:00 Sunday 2nd September to post your combination choices for Draw 1.

As all combinations will be displayed in the Post 1 table, you may as well post your choices on this thread.
If you want to PM/Email them instead.......no problem.

I have edited my last post to answer your question.
As all combinations will be displayed in the Post 1 table, I would suggest posting your choices in this thread.
Just make sure when you decide to start using your points, you specify 'hide value/status', 'convert for all', 'convert for me' when you post your combination, making sure you also include the combination you are talking about.

I guess if you had an eSafe (or any safe or combination lock) that you were trying to crack then the lock would force you into a given combination format so any guess not complying with said format would immediately be invalid. So say you had nine combinations on a suitcase, each individual key would have to accomodate the 10 digits and 5 letters, so you could theoretically put down 9 letters even if you knew you were only allowed a maximum of two!

Hands up time.......egg on face statement.

I have identified an error in my scoring matrix which has unfortunately caused two scores to be displayed incorrectly.

What makes it worse.......both errors are in Scaaty's Draw 2 & Draw 4 scores.

These errors have now been corrected in the Post 1 table..

(It hasn't compromised Scaaty's overall points score........Draw 2 was under scored by 1 point & Draw 4 was over scored by 1 point.)

However, scoring errors make the game somewhat pointless.
I apologise unreservedly for this & can assure you it will not happen again, as I have identified the problem, but will check all submissions manually from now on.

Scaaty understands the theory but has a bit of trouble putting it into practice ! :laugh

No worries Ada, you've done an amazing job getting this game sorted out and I'm sure this small mistake didn't make much difference - apart from giving me someone to blame when I don't win, of course !! :D

A WORD OF WARNING......
As you get nearer to cracking the combination.............

Unless you use 30pts to post a 'winning' combination guess at ANY time......

You can only win the game by posting the winning combination when one of your Thunderballs is drawn in the corresponding draw.

I would therefore suggest...
If you think you have the winning combination....delay posting it until during the 24hr period after the Thunderball draw, when you know which Thunderball has been drawn.

If your TBall HAS been drawn....then post your combination.......if it is correct..you've won.

If your TBall is NOT drawn, then post a deliberately INCORRECT combination, but make sure it is worth as many points as possible to get your points total to 30 or above, enabling you to post the CORRECT combination at ANY time thereafter.

FOR INFORMATION:
Scaaty's score is displayed as "30+" in the Post 1 Table.
This is to prevent other players working out her Draw 7 combination points value, which she has requested be witheld.
30+ is an indication to all that she has sufficient points to post a winning combination guess using 30pts if she so wishes.
Her ACTUAL score (for now) is only known by both Scaaty & myself.

Ada - quick rules question.

Could I hypothetically spend 15 points to convert Scaaty's most recent (hidden) combination to an actual status for us all to see or can one only do that if the points total is shown? Does spending those 12pts prevent anyone from ever revealing the actual status of that guess?

Good question Mat.......

I am going to rule that once a player has requested a combination points value be witheld by using 12pts, that combination points/status becomes permanently witheld & cannot be revealed/converted to actual status by the other players.

Scaaty only knows the points value of her combination, NOT the actual status.
Scaaty is the only player who can use a further 15 or 20pts to convert the points value to actual status, if she so wishes.
No other player can do this for the combination in question.
