Well Mate my month started very bad, but my bets seems to be going ok now, thanks to a lot of your bets and the Non League picks from my ratings sheet. I think I dropped my Irish bets at the right time.
I've had a really good day today and to end it off even better my team Ayr Utd got through to the Semi Finals of the Challenge Cup...:D so I can't complain.
Time for some shut eye now, will look forward to seeing you smash through the 100 point mark soon....:thumbs

Tonight, I had only one single - on Shacktar. Well, good day after all...
What do you think about tomorrow, about this:
Tonight, both English teams in CL played draw 1:1. Both Liverpool and Chelsea received first.
So, my point is this:
There is no way that in one CL week neither English team doesn't win.
On wed night, Arsenal or MU will score first. I believe that it will be easier for MU to score against Sporting.
Seville is tough team to beat so I'll probably take MU on single to win and to score first. :wink
All in all, there will probably be 4 singles:
Arsenal - Sevilla - Arsenal to score first
Arsenal - Sevilla - Over 2.5
Sporting - MU - MU to score first
Sporting - MU - MU to win

Derry versus UCD is a cup game, in fact the quarter-finals.

I'm literally chasing conditional exams for fourth year. Another one and I'm done for this year...I have to be on university all the time so I'm not at home too much, I barely have time to pick some games. CL was the only I managed to check out.
I'm looking at this Bundesligas for tonight, but I don't know what to play. Home win for M'Gladbach looks quite good to me but I'll wait for half time score. Hope that there will be a HT draw so I can pick home win then with some higher value. 1.70 is to small for me for such'a game. It's not that much certain victory for MG.
Will see...

Notwithstanding means in spite of. Nevertheless. You have been using it incorrectly for some time now.
I work in contracts you see, I use 'notwithstanding' all the time, incorrect usage in an agreement could have serious legal ramifications, so I have to be aware of these things.

Yes, usually...
They blow up some matches this season...especially with Derby on Monday. I think that they will give their best to win tomorrow. They have a strong team this season and I think that Martins, Owen or Smith can find their way to the net. They have won 2 in a row at home (LC and PL).

The Raith Rovers fans don't seem to bothered as there nearly all of them are predicting a home win.
Thats a good price........:yikes:......get on......

SUNDAY 23rd SEPTEMBER
..................................
BRAZIL SERIE A
NAUTICO V SPORT
.........................
It’s a big day for :football21: fans of Nautico and Sport :football21:, the two oldest professional football clubs in Recife, northeast Brazil – today is the..
"O Clássico dos Clássicos" which really means, in English; the Derby of all Derby’s.
I am a huge fan of Nautico, and consequently known as a :football3:FANAUTICO.:football3:
There are 3 professional teams in Recife and my allegiance to Nautico, in particular, is almost certainly due to being thrust into a Fanautico environment upon arrival in Brazil – life would have been :8_1_215: tricky:8_1_215: if I had shown other allegiances….
:football3:NAUTICO:football3:
………….
Being established in 1901, as a :yikes: rowing club :yikes:, Nautico is the oldest club in Recife. But it wasn’t until 1905 when the club developed a proper and serious football section, initiated and formed by :yikes: Englishmen :yikes:(more correctly British, as their were some Scots, too) who were living and :REGamblMoworking:REGamblMo in the area (engineers and traders).
Nautico became known as the :REGamblMo¨club of the rich¨:REGamblMo , because they would not allow :Blacklistnonono: black players :Blacklistnonono: in the team, but readily accepted :killer white players, not only from the local area, but from anywhere in Brazil and beyond.
This policy created a schism, and guess what happened?
A small group broke away and formed another team, and guess what they called themselves?
Yep – you got it – SPORT…:splapme
:icon_tong SPORT :icon_tong
……….
We know from the aforementioned how Sport was founded, and as a side-issue of interest – some football clubs all over the world were founded by schisms of one sort or another, be it over :splapmeskin colour:splapme or :splapmeclass.:splapme A very famous example is the two big Milan clubs, whereby Inter Milan was formed by a breakaway group from AC Milan, who were unhappy about AC being dominated by Italians (or more correctly, working class Italians, particularly from the south). And today, both Inter Milan and Nautico et al, still have the elitist cross to bear:rolleyes: – whilst AC Milan and Sport enjoy a massive working class fan base.
:thechopDerby of all Derby’s.:thechop – Today’s game…
Nautico are the hosts, and oddly are favourites.:yikes: I say oddly, because they have not got a good record in these games :nutter– lets take a look at some stats:
During the past 5 years there have been 13 head-to-heads…
SPORT have won 6 :dung
NAUTICO have won 3 :sport-smi
There have been 2 draws :GP
It actually gets much worse for Nautico if we look only at the 2007 games…
SPORT won 3 in 2007:uoyurs
NAUTICO are yet to beat Sport in 2007.:dung
Lets break the head to heads down a bit further…(with Nautico as the home team)
From 6 head to heads, its 2 wins a piece and 2 draws –
Clearly, on balance, SPORT comes out pretty much on-top in the head-to-head stats…
What about current league position and form?
Sport are currently 9th in Serie A, whilst Nautico are sitting in 18th position. However, :clpNautico are on an unbeaten run of 4 games:clp, including 2 recent very good away wins – they are in ascendancy at the mo….On the other hand, Sport have drawn 2, lost and won one from their last 4 games…
On balance then, Nautico are in better current form – but its never that cut and dried , is it!
This is a big derby, huge rivalry, and both clubs will have an insatiable desire to win:mady – Nautico need the win more than Sport – as they are currently occupying a Serie A relegation spot….but it’s a tough pick – especially for me being a subjective Fanautico….
My head tells me to bet Sport:yikes:, because in my view they represent a bit of value – lets take a look at the prices:
NAUTICO = 2.10
DRAW = 3.25
SPORT = 3.35
Don’t you agree, with the information I have given you, according to the prices, Sport are the head pick?:yikes:
I will be going to this game:horse, and I don’t want to be in the situation where I am shouting for Nautico and hoping that Sport win because of my bet……I will play it safe – and go for the overs bet…..
OVER 2.50 Goals looks good to me,:smokin the price is a bit short @ 1.75 – but I really do think its kinda nailed on:smokin….(in my opinion)….
However, if I wasn’t a Nautico fan, ? Who knows....?
In addition to my overs bet, I am going to have a HT/FT DOUBLE as a side-bet….
Oh, just before I sign off….
The overs and unders stats….
The last 13 games have ONLY produced 6 overs…..BUT…The average goals per game has been 3. That is 13 games producing 39 goals…
:Blacklistnonono:BUT- BUT – BUT:Blacklistnonono: –NAUTICO have scored 11 goals in the last 3 games::hump…SPORT have only scored 4:giggle , but that is 15 between them…..mean averaging 5 goals a game…..which of course, bodes well for the overs….
MY BET
………..
OVERS @ 1.75 = 9 POINTS
HT/FT DOUBLE RESULT
HT/FT Double : Nautico / Sport @ 34.00 = ½ POINT
HT/FT Double : Sport / Náutico @ 29.00 = ½ POINT
10 POINT BET –
Good Luck if you play…..:bouncey

Nice preview Merl! :wink
Hope that Nautico is going to win...
Anyway...
This is what I'm going to play for today.
I have one ACCA pending from Saturday with Newcaste home win on it. There is about 15e profit on that acca (I've staked 1e).
As I told you yesterday, I'll try to beat bookies with Newcastle today.
So, I'll place 20e on Newcastle win at 2.00.
Also, I'll place 10e on Newcastle draw 3.00 as cover bet.
If Newcastle win, there is 55e for me today -> 25 clean profit.
If they in any case play draw, I'll be sad, but not to sad with my 30e back.
I must remind you that average wage in Serbia is about 250e, so that why I'm happy with 25e from one game - it's 10%. :D
You must be asking what if they lose?
If they lose, I'll hate them for the rest of my life, as simple as that. ;fire

Good luck , Maxy..I am on NEWCASTLE...but I have done draw no bet with Paddy Power @ 1.50....
If you have an account there its worth you doing that too.....because you will get more value for your stake...than betting the way you described....
If they draw you get your stake back...if they win you will get 45e....5 more than your proposed bet....

Yes, I know, but here in Serbia you can't have Master or Visa to pay over net if you don't have constant source of income aka regular full time job. :wink
And I don't have it...luckily there are bookies on every 100m.
And there are no Draw-no-bet for every game, that's why I'm doing it like that. It's a habit now...
Anyway, Draw-no-bet on this game is 1.35 at all bookies in Serbia...

I didn't put any money on Nautico to be truth,I wanted to play on Nautico win after your post but i didn't have the balls... :icon_tong
Luckily, crappy results came in to late for me. :D
Lyon, Rennes, Real, Sporting...And they both were losing until the end of the game...stupids...
BTW, I can't believe that Sporting didn't win...That's what it's going to happen with your team if you bring Serbian trio in one transfer period (Stojkovic, Purovic (scorer today) and Vukcevic) - you are going do disappoint your supporters! :D
Betting is illegal in Brazil? I didn't knew that... There was similar idea in parliament in Serbia, but they (government) learned that there would be riots if they do that. Latest public opinion poll shows that 84% of men in Serbia older than 15 placed a bet at least once in last 10 years and 31% do it constantly. :splapme
So, consequence of that is that now we have a bookie on every 100m... :)

Hi Merl, I'll continue to "spam" your thread because that brings me luck. :wink
My pick for Monday is:
Elfsborg - Hammarby -> Home Win at 1.90
I don't like to bet on teams which I don't know very good. But I'll make exception this time. Reasons:
1. Elfsborg is quite good at home (5-5-0 21:8) and Hammarby is afoul away (1-3-6 9:16).
2. Elfsborg was second on the table before this round and one point behind Djurgarden. Now is third because Kalmar won. Djurgarden is playing one of the hardest matches in the season - away against AIK. So, there is more than great possibility that Djurgarden won't win.
3. Hammarby is 8-th on table and I'm not sure about their motivation.
4. If Elfsborg want to be first on the table now is an excellent chance.
5. Elfsborg won last game at Hammarby 1:0. Last 5 Head to Head matches: Elfsborg won 3, Hammarby won 1 and one draw.
6. Value is very good considering all above.
7. I have some feeling that Elfsborg is going to win. I'll take this for sure. :D
Any suggestions or thoughts are welcome... :)

I can't understand some football managers,:splapme the Raith Rovers manager John McGlynn said in the Sunday Mail newspaper that Ayr Utd were very lucky to win on Saturday...:yikes:
The way I seen it Ayr Utd scored 3 goals Away from home, hit the bar and the post, and took all 3 points, enough said.:D
Well you can judge for yourself from the highlights, but I think he's talking P~~h
Oh! and the Raith keeper played a blinder, check it out....:laugh

You get 2 points for each correct score(amount of goals for each team)
1 point for a correct result (home , draw, win)…
It was a bit annoying for me this week…coz I was the only one to predict an away win…and only scored 1 Point…whilst others…like Skittle, get 2 points for predicting 2 goals for Raith…

Very true mate! I often wonder how we manage to come out in profit when you see some of the crazy results that come in each day.
I once read in a book that you should never place a bet unless your confident that your selection can win, and that's my downfall I place lots of good bets and they win, then I end up having a crazy spell of placing bets that I'm not very confident about and of course they lose.
If I could stick to my main picks in one day I would do Ok. My biggest problem is that I get bored easy, and end up placing bets that I shouldn't...

Thats just not practical...M....all betting is subjective….(unless you use a system)…even method betting is subjective…….some may disagree with that though….
I do think a little intuition/insight or something unknown comes into the reckoning with footy betting…..just a little……….its always nice to have stats and stuff to back up your feelings…..:yikes:
Take tomorrow night..I do fancy Weymouth to get something at Torquay….this goes against all the known current form…….but you got to go with it….(sometimes)…or you would hardly place a bet…..

I feel the same way about a Scottish CIS Cup game game on Wednesday night, I have a funny feeling Aberdeen might struggle down in Glasgow when they play Partick Thistle. I think Aberdeen might be distracted by their upcoming European tie in the Ukraine. Partick Thistle haven't played that good this season, but I think they might just get a shock result on Wednesday night.

Oddly - the bets I am most confident in seem to lose more than those I am not confident in. Particularly when following merlin :yikes: I guess this means I havent got that 6th sense that you guys have, or a lot less experience.
Discipline is clearly very important, i am convinced the only reason my non league bets are in profit is because it has forced me to be a lot more disciplined about my selections and staking than i would normally be.
Like you I have a low boredom threshold...particularly at work :ermmm and betting is my main way of amusing myself and engaging my brain...but im not sure betting out of boredom is a great idea financially.
