It it possible to copy and past from excel, (to a forum for example) and still retain the spacing, or better still, the boxes?

Normally, when I copy and paste, it loses the spacing when I submit the post and is all jumbled.

Depends on the forum settings but usually not as most forum code strips out excess spacing, tab delimiters etc. That's why I have macro code to convert my Excel tables to HTML

It depends which part of the forum you are in. If you look at the bottom left corner, you will see a 'posting rules' box - if it says html code is on then that section will accept a table but you need to save the table as html in excel first and then post the html.

There is a way of doing it using PHP but I'll leave Keith to explain that one.

In plain english (version with pictures), you can do it - but it isn't easy!

Convert it to BBCODE :thumbsFor thems what don't know what that means, BBCode tags are almost identical to HTML tags so you could create the table in an HTML editor (which includes basically any text editor but you may find it easier to use a WYSIWYG editor) and then do a search and replace changing < to [ and > to ]

Ta-dah! You now have a BBCode table.

Thanks, I'll try that later.
