The Dundalk AW track is only new, but Ger Lyons has been firing some nice priced winners home.

All the while at the new Dundalk track, everyone has been watching the big guns like O' Brien and Oxx, but Lyons has been sneaking in winners of all ages.

All Ger Lyons trained horses @ Dundalk since it opened:

Age ......Races...... Wins ...........Placed (inc. win)....... Profit to €100 stakes
2yo...... 10............ 2 ................6 .................................€50
3yo........9............ 3................. 4 ................................€1,133
4yo+..... 8............ 2.................. 5 ...............................€1,250

He has a few entered for tomorrow evening:

It appears that Lyons is still worth following here. Excluding yet another winner tonight, his stats read...

Bets: 88
Wins: 15
Strike rate: 17.05%
Profit to €10 stakes: €170.50

17% at one track is not really that reliable though. The profits can easily be distorted by 1 or 2 high priced winners, they may have been 'lucky', a fluke, one of only a handful of finishers, you need to look at the figures closely, and the trend must be over at least 3 years to show it's a trainers track.

Hi Veg, He's shown a slight loss in 2008 so far:

Period Bets Wins SP Points Strike Rate

2008... 39... 6... -5.75... 15.38%
2007... 52... 10... 16.83... 19.23%

However, he's hit the bar loads of times and seems to be fighting back. As Keith says, it's not a huge sample by any means, so the risk averse may not be interested. I'm trying to get in early though and seeing if I can make a few quid on the new track before his prices are cut too much.

Regarding Dundalk, there's another early trend I'm following...

Again, this will not appeal to those who like large samples, but Murtagh has a cracking record there (Thanks to MattR for pointing this out to me!) :

Qualifiers Winners SP Points Strike Rate

62... 20... 52.23... 32.26%

There ain't many people around these parts that follow Irish racing it seems, but for anyone interested, this is still working well. Since Dundalk AW track opened, backing Ger Lyons trained horses has produced:

Bets: 196
Wins: 42
Strike Rate: 21.43%
Profit to £100 stakes: £4025

Stack, Oxx and Michael O'Brien are all worth noting at Dundalk too.
