Has he also sent similar e-mails to others saying the match is fixed to be a draw and yet others telling them it is fixed to be a Panathinaikos win?

do you know the person? if not it's most likely an old scam.

the person will send out thousands of mailshots (e-mail)
33% told to back the draw
33% told to back the home team
33% told to back the away team

(one is bound to win) - say for example the 'home team', he will then get everyone who he sent the 'bet home team e-mail too' and repeat the process sending 33% of e-mails saying bet 1/x/2.
if somebody is sent an e-mail saying bet something that lost - they will simply be ignored for future e-mails.

at the end of a few e-mails there will be a small minority of prople who have receiver nothing but winners - and then they will probably be asked for payment for these 'guaranteed winners'.

The thing is - Olympiakos should win anyway - they are the home team and the team in slightly better form. They drew on Sunday in the league and I would think a home win would be the most likely outcome.

Also, if I were in receipt of such info I doubt very much if I would tell anybody else.

I wouldn't be so sure they'd win anyway. They lost at home to them last season and as you say drew with them in the league on sunday. Panathinaikos are also third in the league. Add to that the cups in most european leagues are not taken that seriously so either team could be full of reserves.

Presto has hit the nail on the head I think.
