More homes than a council estate! :yikes:

Apparently they could be on the move again :ooo

So Chris... what's the story... Glanford Park is relatively new, in acres of open space, and generally easily capitally increasable!!!

SO what's going on?

Well, we are fairly restricted in what we can do where we are now with all the retail development that has gone on around us and we don't own all the land to be able to expand on. The ground itself could do with a bit of TLC so we have looked into possible alternatives.

There is talk of the council building on some land the other side of the motorway and developing a large complex of which we could be the focal point. They will be deciding their preferred option by the end of April. If it was to go ahead, which our chairman thinks is now up to 50/50, then we are hopeful that with money from the sale of Glanford Park, Council Funding, Grants and money from developers that we could move with no real cost to the club and fully modernise ourselves and have everything on one site.

The other alternative, which we would have to fund ourselves, is to build on top of one of the existing stands - probably the home end.

Although we haven't sold out many times this season the ground does need modernising a bit and we are slightly restricted in the number of away fans we can accomodate. Moving to a 12,000 + stadium would give us more scope and bring everything together.

Can't you share the Olympic stadium with Orient? Should be able to get it 1/4 full with two games on at once!!

It does indeed good sir... I suppose progression is good, and Glanford Pk has had it's fair share of criticism I suppose.
