Another great nights entertainment in store at Shelbourne. In the second race on the card last years English Derby finalist Ullid Conor is in action from T4 for Paul Hennessy.Forecast price of 3/1 looks tempting but my preference is for Marie Gilberts charge BRIDGETS BULLET from T1.From this favourable draw he can reverse March 8th form with Ullid Conor. From T6 Brennans Pride could be a big danger if producing his best, but this dog looks to be on the downgrade and the 5/2 about T1 looks the best bet.
The feature on the card is the £14000 final of Cooley Foods A3.Martinstowns Mist comes into this on the back of 3 wins and is very worthy favourite around the 6/4 mark.Mermac from T2 has won both rounds of this stake,5/1 on both occasions, goes into this decider at 7/2.Ballygur Rodge(4/1) from T4 hasnt had the clearest of runs in both rounds and goes into this with realistic chances if geting a clear run.
Mermac looks to have the early to lead round the opening two bends, the big question is where will martinstown mist be,if within a couple of lenghts youd have to really fancy the fav to pick up the purse.
I think theres value in taking the 7/2 about Mermac. Its a good bet he will have his head in front early from a favourable draw.He might be good enough to stay and could benefit if the Fav finds any trouble in running
