In reply to a PM from a member on here, and how I work out the results, I've published my reply below. Long term member's on here will verify this is the way it works.

Both those horses were over 10.5 on the exchanges, only Varadouro was heavily backed in late, it was 11.5 on the exchanges when I placed the bets so as I have done for the last 8 years, it was void.

Rose Row had an SP of 15/2 and was bouncing around 12.0-16.0 on the exchanges, the only time it may have gone below 10.5 is when traders hit the price.

This is how lays work, always have done, and always will, people putting the bets on at different times will have different qualifiers, which is why the Lay proofing results on sites like Racing Index are meaningless.

I use a laying system from the Betting Insider, and hit 3 10.5's in two days last week.....the majority of others missed them :splapme. This happens with the Pro-Losers & MAX lays, the latter taking some hits last week, but the majority missed some of them, I never. :headbange Swings & roundabouts on borderline cut-off qualifiers.

With all the lays that have been published by Keith in the 18 months since I first started looking at the site I have always taken a more cautious approach and used 8.0 as my cut off but the advice has always been as Keith stated above.

I haven't been on the wrong side of a gamble for ages.....

Ive started to monitor my overlay more closely now.

For example in May on The NH Profit machine my overlay average in total is actually in minus figures at 3.91% which means Im beating SP! :)

The only problem though is the average overlay on the winning horses, the only prices that matter as I lay to Fixed stake, is 27.60% :(

The good thing though is the first figure is the largest sample so thats more accurate for the long run - I certainly hope so! :)

Since the start of the year my overlay on the NHPM system has dropped from 10.77% to 9.38%. I don't do anything different from system to system but that's a couple of percent lower than my other main laying systems. That said, I've got an overlay of only 4.11% on the Easy Money lays which is by far my lowest for laying. It's a decnt size sample too at over 300 runners
