I'm off to Sunny Spain in 4 weeks time, can anyone point me in the right direction for connecting to the web from my laptop, I'm with Vodafone and I know they do contracts and USB modems, and I connect my mobile in Spain to Vodafone Espana, but does anyone know of any companies that provide the same for us holiday folk for a couple of weeks connection.

I don't want to be tied into a long contract and I want it pretty damn cheep as I'm a tight git :D, many thanks and some rep for good advice :thumbs

I'm not in an Hotel this time B we're stopping at a friends apartment for a small fee to cover the maintenance charges, so got a cheap one this time instead of being in a 5***** with the youngest patron being around 90 :yikes:.

My mums 84 and she said after the first night in the function room "I ain't going in there again let's find a bar with some life that's not on life support" :laugh

yep, there was a bit about this on Watchdog recently where folk had been caught out with incredible charges for data - £5 per Mb and more being the norm. One guy downloded an online game and played it while on holiday... result was a bill of over £9000 :yikes:

Perhaps I did not explain properly, there's quite a few "Mobile Providers" who also do internet access 3 mobile / Vodafone are just two, in fact my brother has just signed up for the 3mobile 3GB broadband at £7.50 per month and 0.10p per Mb after that per month.

When I was in Spain at christmas our friend over there had her mate visit the bar (where else :wink) and had just the same as what I'm on about, but that was probably with a Spanish provider, as I said Vodaphone Espana do this offer the same as UK but they tie you down to at least a 30 Day contract and up to 24 month's, this is not like the £9k jobby as I think that was Phone based access if i'm not mistaken.

Hope that makes it clearer :)

I know what you mean Plater. I see the adverts for these things all over the place.

Have you been into any of the multi-network provider shops (Phones 4 U etc) to see what they recommend? Do Money Supermarket have anything about it online? They seem to know what they are doing when it comes to these things.
