I was looking at a picture in Time magazine last night, of the race from yonks ago (B&W). They had spare inner tubes around their necks, and some were smoking :laugh. They also wore swimming hats & goggles :ooo

the thing is with 'designer steroids' they are very hard to detect, and some don't even show up on (out of date) tests.
steroids also give the competitor a huge advantage over the competition, especially in the extremely challanging tour de france.
it's just like the dwayne chambers case - cheat and take your chances against a ban.
