Anyone know anything about them?

I had a chat with my physio today, and somehow we got onto the subject of drums, and that they reckon they are the best way of exercising everything second to swimming!

So I done a bit of research, and seems to be true. A number of reports show that playing the drums for 30+ minutes a day give you a serious workout, and as I can't do much these days since I'm off the steroids, seems good to me. Seem to be 3 kits, but I don't know which is the best.

Does it matter which is best? Unless you're joining a band? If you're just going to bang the :censored: out of them why not just get the cheapest?

Same reason I wouldn't buy the cheapest laptop! I may just want to 'surf' the web, but what if I want to then play a game....no graphics!!

I used to play the drums about 20 years ago :yikes:

Hi Keith

I have a Roland TD-6 and have to say that I think Roland are the best, though may be over the top for what you want it for.

The TD-3 is the model below mine and is usually around £599, and like the TD-6 has a "proper" snare with a skin so is a lot easier on the wrists.

I tried a couple of the cheaper ones a few years ago and the lack of bounce on some of them meant the wrists ached after a short time, though I think they have got better over time.

That's why I the Black Mamba sounded good, as it has the real bounce built in, so I ordered it. Nice of Paypal to give me a 10% Off coupon, and get my affilaite earnings as well, saved me around £40 :)

Just hope the wife can assemble it while I watch the racing :laugh

After my encounter when I first moved to London with a Moroccan reggae band who let me play their bongos, I want to buy a bongo drum... and they're dirt cheap.

I'd get whichever drum kit has the furthest apart drums... like maybe three that are perhaps scattered around the room!

Why don't you also buy a Nintendo Wii?
