while playing mtt's i generally slow play after the first couple of levels. i don't see the point in the bb coming round quickly. especially after the bubble has burst i generally try to explain the value of slow playing to the other players and by the time the table has grasped this i get moved tables :mover
so why do 90% of players play quickly

I totally agree - but you have to be very careful when you play monsters slow and be VERY AWARE of straight draws, flush draws and trips.
A lot of people play quickly because they don't think things through properly - or they are actually attuned to what is going on and can spot potential outs a mile off. Often I play quickly when I'm in danger of running into an opponent's out(s) and with my luck more often than not I get caught with the much better starting hand.

Oh!
In that case - I play EXTREMELY quickly at high levels when I'm low stacked and the blinds are massive. I say to myself, "Must get my big blind in before the level goes up". Every penny counts. Usually I'm ticking the boxes at this stage in that situation so that my move is instant.
At other times, I will play slowly to irritate and annoy people - especially those that chat - often to themselves.
