Cactus Jack doesn't like water so he drinks Oasis which is just as good for him.
I have no idea why he is with that girl though surely the ad would have made more sense if he ran away with a girl cactus.

So someone at the ad agency came up with this idea, persuaded his colleagues and superiors that it was good and then took it to the client and managed to persuade them it was right for their product. How? I know it's supposed to be reverse psychology and all but it's a risky strategy

sometimes an advert isn't about selling the product but promoting the brand which this has obviously done as shows above.

:doh No. Because they can't put together a simple ad, I certainly wouldn't buy it, and the point of an ad is to sell, brand name does not make money on its own.

I know what you're saying here...its like the Marmite ads isnt it? There must be a fine balance between getting it just right and having a nightmare. Its perhaps why these people are more than likely paid large salaries to come up with these ideas. That ad has just come on Mat while typing this...Its Nestle Oats & More...looks disgusting.

They have banned the oasis ad .

It encourages underage pregnancy ( even though the girl is twenty ), and suggests oasis is a substitute for water.

I'm 40 and the cereals we ate were Sugar Puffs (the clue is in the name) and Frosties. What's worse is we put sugar on top as well but kids just weren't fat then. Well, maybe 1 per school but they got the pee ripped out of them constantly.

You're right. Although we also had accidents then too and not 'opportunites to sue someone'.


As for people copying adverts, well, if they're that stupid let them get on with it.
