Dabbling in a couple of cash games at the moment alongside regular tournament play. I like to mix and match them, keeps me on top of my game. Or at least it's meant to... :laugh Couldn't play on with these Aces after being re-raised twice post-flop... correct decision too.

I like the pre-flop re-raise but in my opinion your post-flop bet is too small. The pot is $9 and you bet $1 giving anyone drawing great odds (10/1). There are two hearts on the board as well as cards that connect with a lot of popular holdings (face cards). You're behind to any 9 too. In this case I'd lead out for around $6 or so.

As it happens in this case you'd have lost more than you did but in the long run I think that bet will serve you better and provide you a much better Idea of where you stand. Had the action gone call, call rather than raise, re-raise you'd have no idea where you stood on this hand. Would another heart scare you? Should it? No idea without making someone pay over the odds to draw.

Good fold though :thumbs

It's interesting that the first thing about the flop you mention is the two suited cards, because that was the 3rd thing that I thought about. The first thing was that I thought was that that at least one of them had flopped a set of 9's, and secondly maybe one had flopped a boat.

So with this in mind I made a minimal bet on the flop with the idea that I was going to get raised. It wasn't too difficult to fold 2 x re-raises and so I got lucky with my initial thoughts. Maybe it wasn't a strong enough bet regardless but in this instance I got away with it. :)
